This is the perfect single-layer Dachshund fleece coat for your best friend! The coat is made from breathable, soft fleece: warm enough to protect your dog on chilly, dry days, yet light enough to stay comfortable. It’s exactly the in-between coat you need when your wire-haired or long-haired Dachshund just needs an extra layer in winter, or when your short-haired Dachshund starts to feel cold in the autumn. The high fleece collar adds warmth around the neck and can be worn upright or casually folded down.
In winter, this Dachshund fleece coat is especially suitable for wire-haired Dachshunds with a thick undercoat and for long-haired Dachshunds who don’t get cold easily. For short-haired Dachshunds, this fleece coat is ideal as a spring and autumn coat. Looking for something warmer or fully winterproof? You can layer this Dachshund fleece coat with the neoprene raincoat. The neoprene coat goes over the fleece coat and keeps your Dachshund dry, essentially giving you two coats in one. Prefer a single winter coat instead? Then choose one of our winter coats.
Important: choose a winter coat only for short-haired Dachshunds in winter, or for extremely cold-natured wire-haired or long-haired Dachshunds. In most cases, this single-layer Dachshund fleece coat is warm enough during winter for long-haired and wire-haired Dachshunds with a good undercoat. A winter coat is often too warm for them.
All our Dachshund coats are handmade in our atelier in Italy. This means they are not produced in large quantities. After years of refinement, we have finally created the perfect “Dachshund fit”: extra length along the back, a large belly flap that protects both the lungs and the belly, and Velcro at the chest and under the belly, making the coat very easy to put on. Once you’ve selected the correct size using our measuring guide below, you can adjust the coat to perfectly fit your Dachshund’s body using the Velcro. Watch the video below to see how it works.

This winter coat for your Dachshund does not have an eye for a harness in the coat. A harness is therefore worn over this coat. Please note: this is only possible with our own Dachshund harnesses, as they are so adjustable that they can be worn over the coat. Regular harnesses often end up in the armpits.
Want to add extra warmth or complete the burgundy look? Pair the raincoat with one of our snoods.

Sizes
In this size chart you can see what size your Dachshund should be. NB! The advice based on Dachshund size and weight is a guideline. The advice remains: measure your Dachshund based on the measuring advice and compare the measured centimeters with those in the size chart. Do not rely on our advice about which size suits which Dachshund, every Dachshund is different.anders.

Maintenance instructions
For long-lasting quality, wash the coat as little as possible. If the coat gets dirty, let the dirt dry and brush it off. The coat can be washed at a maximum of 30°C. Make sure to close the Velcro properly before washing. Allow the coat to air dry and do not put it in the tumble dryer.
