Meet our newest addition to the collection: the double-layered Dachshund winter coat made of wool and fleece. This type of coat has been a favorite for several years because it's so wonderfully warm, soft, and supple. In addition to the black check and beige block print, this Dachshund winter coat is now also available in a chic chocolate brown. The wool outer layer and the soft fleece lining on the inside combine to create a warm, insulating winter coat that will keep your Dachshund comfortable through cold days.
This Dachshund winter coat is the perfect winter coat for the short-haired Dachshund, which really needs extra protection in winter. For wire-haired and long-haired Dachshunds, we only recommend this coat if they are sensitive to the cold, have a poor undercoat, or have just been plucked. Otherwise, this double-layered coat is too warm, and it's better to opt for a single-layered coat, such as one of our fleece jackets .
Like all our Dachshund coats, this winter coat is also handmade in our workshop in Italy. No mass production, just meticulous craftsmanship. After years of development, we've created the perfect Dachshund fit: extra length over the back, a generous belly flap that protects both the lungs and most of the abdomen, and adjustable Velcro on the chest and under the belly. This makes the coat incredibly easy to put on and adjust perfectly to your Dachshund's body, once you've chosen the right size using our measuring guide. The video below shows you how.

Please note: this Dachshund winter coat does not have an opening for a harness. A harness must be worn over the coat. Our own Dachshund harnesses are specially designed for this purpose and always fit snugly over this winter coat, without slipping or getting into the armpits. Other harness models often don't have this, with all the attendant consequences.

Maintenance instructions
To ensure a long lifespan, wash your coat as little as possible. If the coat gets dirty, let the dirt dry and then polish it off. The coat can be washed on the wool cycle, preferably with wool detergent, at a maximum temperature of 30°C. Let it air dry briefly and do not machine wash.
