Meet the newest color in our wax coat family: burned orange. A soft, warm shade of orange that looks stunning on any Dachshund. This coat not only suits the Dachshund's unique build but also their character and look: tough, stubborn, and a touch classic.
The wax coat gives your Dachshund that timeless look that will instantly lift your spirits. The lightly weathered wax layer, subtle signs of wear, and sturdy design create a charming vintage style that seems to have come straight from the English countryside. Beautiful and practical: thanks to the extra length, your Dachshund will stay comfortably warm, and the wide belly band protects the lungs and belly from wind and rain. Perfect for forest walks, autumn weather, and rainy days.
For wire-haired Dachshunds with a good undercoat, this is the ideal coat for spring and autumn, and sometimes even sufficient for winter. For Dachshunds that get cold more easily, such as short-haired ones, you can combine this waxed coat with asingle-layer fleece jacket or woolen mid-layer . The waxed coat itself has a cotton inner layer: light, comfortable, and water-repellent. Great for adventures, but sometimes not warm enough for the truly chilly.
Like all our coats, this wax coat is handmade in our workshop in Italy. No mass production, just attention to detail and craftsmanship. Through years of working on the perfect fit, we've developed a coat truly made for a Dachshund: extra length at the back, a generous belly flap, and Velcro on the chest and belly, making the coat easy to put on and a perfect fit. Once you've chosen the right size using our measuring guide, you can adjust the coat to fit your Dachshund perfectly. Watch the video below to see how.

Please note: this wax jacket does not have an opening for a harness. A harness must be worn over the jacket, provided it's a Y- or H-shaped harness that fits further down the back. Other models often slide towards the armpits, which is obviously uncomfortable. Looking for a harness that always works well with this jacket? Ourown Dachshund harnesses are specially designed for this purpose.
Want to add some extra warmth or complete the burnt orange look? Pair the wax jacket with one of our scarfs .

Back: measure the length of the back from the shoulder blade to the start of the tail

The advice remains: measure your Dachshund using the recommended measurements and compare the measured centimeters with those in the size chart. Do not rely on our advice regarding which size fits which Dachshund; every Dachshund is different.

Maintenance instructions
To ensure a long lifespan, wash this coat as little as possible. What makes this wax coat so distinctive for your Dachshund is the wax layer. This wax layer needs to liven up a bit and develops beautiful details with wear. If the coat gets dirty, let the dirt dry and polish it off. If you wash this wax coat, it will need to be waxed again. Washing removes the beeswax, and it loses its water-repellent properties. The coat can be washed by hand. Air dry briefly and do not tumble dry.
